Joanna has a focus on art that can transform people, place and discourse.
She has been working in the creative communities of New York and Australia for the last 12 years gaining expertise in diverse areas from larger public spaces to intimate art collectives. During that time she has worked in creative positions focused around fundraising, gallery direction, arts leadership and curation. This has included working in such positions as General Manager at Going Down Swinging, Curatorial Assistant for the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, Director of External Relations at Eyebeam, Acting Director at Utopian Slumps, and Festival Director of the Gertrude Street Projection Festival.
Along with these positions she has also been active in working as a freelance curator, administrator, writer and producer for many spaces around Australia and worked with various venues including: No Vacancy Gallery, Platform Gallery, The Workers Club, Screenspace, Donkey Wheel House, Kinfolk & RMIT.
